Merle Hogg - Bass, Guitars & Vocals

What a Fun Band To Be In!

I remember writing the very first "Hogg Tunes" as folks call them. Cousin Jesse was all excited with his 4 track cassette recorder and he came over to my place and from that days session we created the shell of what would be on our the bands debut CD : Black & Blue, Christine and House Husband. To be honest with you I was shocked when they got recorded well over a decade after we wrote them. I'm proud of Jesse and what he has done and proud to be performing with him.

Unlike most of the band I was born in Massachusetts and have lived here most of my life. Jesse used to visit in the summer and I would sometimes join the family at Pappy's around Christmas. We would always have a family jam and even the little ones chiming in or screaming. It's all good. I miss those times.

When Jesse relocated the band up north I jumped at the chance to play and have played guitars and bass as well as sing a bit. I love country music and love to play it even more especially with my family. It reminds me of the jams at Pappys to some degree.

Hobbies: I love auctions, flea markets, yard sales. I enjoy vising the ocean and am an avid collector of musical oddities or rarieties.

Influences: George Jones, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry

Favorite Color : Blue

Dream Job : House Husband

Once I think of more stuff I'll be updatin this page....

With regard to the work itself, I dare not venture a judgment, for I do not understand it. 3
Nothing in the world delights a truly religious people so much as consigning them to eternal damnation. 2
The attendance of that brother was now become like the attendance of a demon on some devoted being that had sold himself to destruction 0
