Kenny & Jesse Unplugged in New Orleans

Gonna have fun on the bayou? Me and Kenny closed out January with a special trip to New Orleans. So we got there Monday and crashed a neighborhood bar called Twelve Mile Limit,

We did 2 songs - Fake It and Fishing & Drinking and got to hear some local up and coming stand up comedians hone their craft Thank you to hosts Julie Mitchell and Laura Sanders - Love You!!

On Tuesday we ventured into the next Parish of Arabi and crossed the bridge over the Mississippi River. Destination Old Arabi Bar and we were right on the shore of the river.

Insides was unique and acoustics of the room nice. We met an interesting man who said his name was Bone Daddy and it said so on his guitar. He gave us some deer jerky he made, pretty good too. Kenny and I played Fake It, The Hammer, Fishin & Drinking and Domestic Short Hair and Kenny then joined Bone Daddy.

On Wednesday we crashed Buffa's Bar & Restaurant and crashed what is known as The Best Open Mic in The World.

Natasha Sanchez is the host and Kenny and I were talking Monkees, the 60's band and she is a huge fan. Natasha shared pics of her and Mike Nesmith that she took at one of his recent shows in WA. Here is a picture of the 3 of us. it was a great night with performances by Natasha and others  including Alex Davis (pictured below),

Tim Nielsen, and Jean Bayou and a great deal of talent graced the stage. Captured here is a video of us doing Hansen Barlow's song "Domestic Shorthair" filmed by Natasha. We also played Fake It and Fishing & Drinking and what a nice place. We walked back to Harrah's Casino after and saw a mini pack of folks marching together and tried some coffee at Cafe Du Monde where you can't get one with cream, just milk. LOVED IT!

Unplugged Fishing & Drinking

There were other cool performers too. We had a great time hanging out with the locals and meeting the other musicians and patrons. It was a nice way to end our visit to this party city. Hope to be back again with the full band.

THANK YOU NEW ORLEANS!!!!!
