It's almost March and us Hoggs have already been outta state twice this year! We are crushing it so far for 2015. On New Years eve we played a show at the Sanctuary in Jamaica Plain and rung in the new year. The very next day we hopped on a plane and headed on a 10 day tour in the mid west, hitting Nashville for the first time. We crashed with Pappy Hogg in New Albany, IN, our home away from home. We got to play with one of our personal favorites The Punknecks in Franklin, TN. It was so great to see them again, especially with a drummer this time. We played a show in Nashville, TN for the first time in Hogg history. We were all so excited and it was for sure something different for all of us.
In Decatur us Hoggs hung out with some real bikers and they were some of the nicest people we've met. But don't tell them we said that, they are hard core bikers and they have an image to uphold. Lisa Mari got caught taking a selfie in the bathroom! Some guy walked by right as she was taking one and he made fun of her the whole night. It was pretty funny. Buzz and Stevie Joe were so happy because the could pretty much smoke inside every venue we played. The drinks were super cheap and the company was awesome. Alas there is just never enough time to do everything and see everyone. We didn't get to see our friends in St. Louis this time around but fear not! We will be back! Filthy Jill and Trevis got us a gig at the loading zone in Taylorville and Lisa Mari and Kitty love that place, for their dollar shots! Needless to say, Jolene drank a lot of whiskey. So much happened and it was our longest tour together.
Then us Hoggs here in the Boston/Cambridge area got hit with all the snow. Lisa Mari and Stevie Joe spent many hours helping Jesse and Kitty shovel the drive way, through we were practically buried in it. With all the snow, the airlines were canceling flights left and right, and we had a show to get to across the country. Vegas bound we were! This is how crazy us Hoggs are, we fly out to beautiful Las Vegas just for ONE show!!! And it was a blast!!!!! Not only was it Lisa Mari and Stevie Joe's first time there, but it was the first time the Hoggs have played there. We flew in no problem and met up with Jesse. Stevie and Lisa Mari went wondering around the Vegas strip at 4am and saw some pretty strange stuff. We played at the Double Down just off the strip, close to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Not only was the venue pretty punk, but the people there were awesome. Now we had a special guest join us while in Vegas, Mr. Jeff Longo of Stubble Magazine! Coolest guy ever, this was Jeff's first time seeing the Hoggs live and we didn't let him down. Vegas was everything we hoped for, and then some.
So we are playing a show this Sunday at the VFW in Uxbridge, MA, that starts at 1pm. Next month we are back at the Midway in Jamaica Plain! Thats going to be Sunday March 22nd. THEN! We're back in the mid west in May! We're not stopping any time soon. It's not even March yet and we've already done so much, and have had a great time doing it.
